Adding insult to injury…literally!
K1 goes down
On the third play of the nationally televised Monday Night Football, Cardinals QB Kyler Murray goes down with what is being reported as an ACL injury. The already injury-plagued Cardinals will now have to face their last 4 remaining games with 2nd string QB Colt McCoy.
The Cardinals have been hurting from injuries all season long but none bigger than Murray’s. Monday night the Cardinals were already missing 80% of their O-line, young CB Byron Murphy due to a back injury & TE Zach Ertz with a season-ending knee injury, suffered against the Rams in week 10. With all that being said the Cardinals held a 3-point advantage leading into halftime.
McCoy came in and threw for 246 yards with no touchdowns and suffered 6 sacks from the New England defense. New England scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to secure their seventh win of the season, keeping their playoff hopes alive. With the loss, The Cardinals are now 1-11 in their last 12 games played at State Farm Stadium.

Is tank season in full effect?
It’s time for the Cardinals to start thinking about next season, it’s time to start thinking about draft positioning. No one is overtaking the Houston Texans for the 1st pick in the draft who hold a record of 1-11-1. As of today, Arizona holds the 6th selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Reevaluate...
Going into next season Arizona has a total of 27 unrestricted free agents, you heard that right! It’s safe to say that we are going to see a lot of new faces in week 1 of the 2023 season. Steve Keim & owner Michael Bidwell need to start evaluating who wants to be here and who wants out.
Do you bring back J.J. Watt? Watt has been a really good player on & off the field for this team. He is respected within the locker room and a great leader on the field. Do you start looking for a possible trade for D-Hop? At the trade deadline, we know there was interest around the league for Hopkins services. He’s still considered a top 5 WR in this league. Do you go out looking for a replacement QB? Now that Kyler has to undergo surgery to repair his ACL injury, we all know the recovery timeframe can be up to 10 months. There is no way of telling if Kyler will be ready by Week 1.
Not only do you have to reevaluate players but also this coaching staff who fans have had on the hot seat for the majority of the season. Under Kliff Kingsbury the Cardinals have a record of 28 wins, 32 losses, and 1 tie. Get ready Cardinals fans it’s going to be a long offseason.

The cardinals end the season with 3 out of their last 4 games on the road.
